Das Mistvieh ist viel zu schnell für einen Charakter ohne Speed-Item und hat mir meine halbe Rüstung ruiniert. *grrr*

*touch to shoot* .. klingt nach Nachkampf, eh ?
Sollte da die übliche Kombi aus phase door/teleport other -> kämpfen usw. nicht ausreichen? Ohne speed items bekommt es 2 Runden und du eine. Bei phase door in einem relativ großen Raum sind das immer ein oder zwei Fernangriffe. 400 HP bedeutet wohl, dass es nach 5-10 phase door Spruchrollen erledigt sein müßte.

Aber hm, ohne speed items wird's wohl ein harter, ausdauernder fight.

Grau ist alle Theorie.
Man ahnt nichts Böses, als eine Tür aufgeht und das plasmatische Dingsbums rausgebraust kommt. Zack, zack, zack hast Du erst mal ein paar mal Säureschaden, der Magic Mushroom macht zwischendurch seine üblichen Späßchen dazu und das Licht aus.
Phase Door ging also nicht, außerdem werden ich den Teufel tun und in der Nähe einer Jelly Pit Phase Door lesen. ^^
Da kann man leicht vom Regen in die Traufe kommen.

Also ich komme da dann nicht in die Traufe sondern meistens in die Traufe, den Regen, den Hurrikan, den Blizzard und das Erdbeben :).

Also Jelly-Pits lass ich immer schön in Ruhe. Gottseidank gibt es einen Detect Monster Spruch.

Ja, das ist ja auch schön - Detect Monster - oh, eine Jelly Pit.
Ich wollte ja auch still und leise dran vorbeigehen, aber leider können einige von den Viechern ja die Tür aufmachen und der Magic Mushroom hält sich eh nicht an Türen und Wände. ^^

Vielleicht gibt es bald eine neue Angband-Version, die mir (weil Ranger mein favorisierter Beruf ist) das Spiel erleichtert:
Collected Vanilla Wishlist
Strong Pseudo ID für Ranger wäre mein sehnlichster Wunsch, bis etwa Level 30 ist es wirklich nervig, immer soviel ID-Scrolls oder Stäbe mitzuführen (Rod of Identify ist viel zu selten).
Ein Köcher wäre auch was Feines. :)

Ich möchte mal wieder das hohe Klagelied über den RNG singen. ;)

Wahrscheinlich kennt das jeder auch aus den anderen *bands - wenn man einen Priester/Paladin spielt, ist das erste Dungeon-Zauberbuch, das man findet ein Magierbuch, wenn man einen Magier/Ranger spielt ist es natürlich ein Priesterbuch.

Außerdem habe ich in fast allen Spielen entweder immer einen Stapel unbenutzter *identify*-scrolls in meinem Haus und nichts zu identifizieren oder es stapeln sich Rüstungen und Schilde aus Elfenhand, Waffen aus Gondolin und Artefakte aller Art, ohne dass ich auch nur einen einzigen *identify*-Zauber auftreiben könnte.

Wenn ich mit einem reduzierten Attribut in die Stadt zurückkehre, sind garantiert alle Restore-Tränke im Alchemy-Shop zu haben, bis auf den, den ich brauche.

Neuerdings (anscheinend wurde in Angband 3.0.6 der Code geändert) gibt es beim Start grundsätzlich entweder keine Laterne im Shop, sodass man mit dämlichen Fackeln vorlieb nehmen muss oder es gibt kein Öl (oder beides nicht). Oft gibt es auch keinen Bogen oder keine Pfeile.

In einer kritischen Kampfsituation versagt ein Zauber, der eigentlich keine hohe Fehlerrate hat, garantiert dreimal hintereinander (gilt natürlich auch für die Aktivierung von Zauberstäben oder Artefakten).

Wenn man kein Geld hat, bietet der Schwarzmarkt am laufenden Band Stat-Potions, Dungeon-Spellbooks oder gute Ego-Items an.
Wenn man Geld hat, gibt's größtenteils Müll. ;)

Ja, das kenne ich.

Gerade das mit den Zaubersprüchen nervt ungemein. Wie kann man bei einer failure rate von 8% einen Spruch sage und schreibe 9mal hintereinander verhauen?! Soll ich da mal stochastisch vorrechnen, wie unwahrscheinlich dieser Fall ist?

Aber seien wir mal ehrlich. Das macht das Spiel doch auch so interessant. Wenn immer alles klappen würde, vor allen so wie man es sich denkt, dann - ja dann - kann man auch D2 spielen.

Aber recht hast du: warum finde ich mit meinem neuen Paladin einfach kein einziges item mit free action? Warum? WARUM?

Das Gleiche wie mit Free Action passiert auch immer mit See Invisible - wenn ich einen Dunadan spiele, suche ich mich dumm und dusselig, der Blackmarket verkauft keinen Ring, es gibt weit und breit keinen Holy Avenger, Defender oder eine Westernesse Waffe.
Wenn ich mir vor dem Spiel überlege - ein High Elf wäre gut, dann hättest Du gleich See Invisible, finde ich andauernd entsprechende Gegenstände - ich vermute eine geheime Absicht dahinter, wenn nicht eine weltumspannende Verschwörung. ;)

Momentan habe ich einen relativ erfolgreichen Paladin, aber ich fürchte, das Ende ist nahe.
Ich habe gerade eine riesige Greater Vault gefunden, viermal so groß wie der Bildschirm, und der Sabber läuft mir schon aus dem Mund. Die Gier wird wohl mein Untergang sein. ;)

Oh, das tut mir leid. War es denn beim Ausräumen des obigen vaults? Ich konnte da keinen aether hound erkennen, aber ich weiß jetzt auch nicht, wie groß/klein der Ausschnitt vom ganzen vault war.
Aber speed -1 mit level32 ist reichlich ungünstig. Da hat man es leider seehr sehr schwer. :(

Kann man sogar auf dem Bild sehen - oben in der Mitte, rechts unter dem Multihued Dragon.
Ich dachte, es wäre ein normaler Multihued Hound, die sehen fast genauso aus, deshalb habe ich auch nicht genauer hingesehen. ^^ Sowas rächt sich immer.

Nach vielen Jahren habe ich es nun endlich geschafft und es war gar nicht so schwer, wie ich befürchtet hatte. ;)
Ich habe zum Schluss aber auch noch Glück mit dem Equipment gehabt, kurz bevor ich zum Endkampf eilte, fand ich noch Vilya, dadurch konnte ich durch Umschichtungen noch +5 Speed rausholen:

Ich sehe schon, +22 speed und alle res abgedeckt; richtig nett. Das hatte ich bei meinem Durchlauf nicht. :)

Owohl der Endkampf gar nicht so schlimm war, war das eine ziemliche Kreislaufbelastung, mein Puls hat gerast. ^^

Speed war sogar +25 ist auf dem Dump nur gesackt, weil ich u. a. Grond aufgesammelt habe.

Ja, der Endkampf, der ist wirklich nervenaufreibend. Der hat bei mir nie aufgehört irgendwelche Monster und Uniques zu beschwören.
Gott sei dank hatte ich die wirklich guten spells 'Unverwundbarkeit' und einen sehr guten area dmg spell. Die Namen habe ich vergessen, aber die waren beim Endkampf unbezahlbar.

Und was jetzt? Pause? Oder eine andere Variante?! :)

Och, es gibt ja noch genug Herausforderungen, andere Rassen und Klassen ...
Varianten gibt's natürlich auch noch wie Sand am Meer.
