MM2 - Gute Party?

Beitrag von elodman »

Ave!

(entcschuldige, ein mix of Deutsch & English kommt)

---
"Spell point formulas work for archers and paladins:
(after they are promoted) max points = points per level * (level - 6).

Looks like a bug but makes sense, since fighter/spellcasters start late. (That was how MM1
calculated it too.)"

---

"the max. hit points/level for classes, if their endurance is 11-12(no bonus):
Knights 12
Paladins 10
Archers 10
Clerics 8
Sorcerors 6
Robbers 8
Barbarians 15
Ninjas 10"

---

"extra attacks are determined as follows.
(level)/x where x is a number dependent on class
4 - Knight, Paladin, Barbarian
5 - Archer, Robber, Ninja
7 - Cleric
10- Sorcerer"

---

"Robbers start out with 30% thieving, and ninjas start out with 10%.
They each gain a percentage point of ability per level, although 100%
thieving doesn't guarantee that you'll be safe against a chest trap."

---

"I find the two new sorts of classes (Barbarian, Ninja) pretty much useless.
Alignment and gender don't matter much either."

---

"My order generally is
1. Kni 2. Pal 3. Arc 4. Cle 5. Rob 6. Sor"
--

Ave!

Hi,
1.
Yes, I think they are okay and the recommended party seems fine.
2.
I did not see the point of barbarians in any Might and Magic. The best melees are knights, because they can wear every weapon and armor in the game and have much strength. Therefore two of them would be the best choice in my opinion. But if I remember it correctly, you need one Paladin to beat the game, but I am not sure about that.
3.
Paladins are crappy but as I said above, you may need one to beat the game.
4.
In my opinion Ninjas are not really good. Robbers are no such bad fighters but they are much better in thieving. That is important in the game.
5.
You need at least two spellcasters. One sorcerer and one cleric. The rest depends on you, how you like to play the game.
6.
Try it, you can change members of your party anytime. I would not recommend a barbarian or ninja, but it is just my opinion.
7.
Yes, an archer with a strong bow is very valuable. Battles in MM2 are different from MM3-5. You do not see the enemy on the map. At some points you just run into them and a special Combatwindow opens. In narrow areas not all of your party can fight directly, because they are too far away. So they must use spells or long range weapons. It is more tactical than MM3-5. I won many fights thanks to my archer or sorcerer. and a cleric is very important to defeat the undead. You should also know that it is not unusual to encounter more than 100 enemies at once.
Gruß,
Lukas
