(Being in danger of blaspheming,) I need to contradict... I ain't. But I am afraid, you're right. I am interested in fair battle to prove strength - not in fighting a puppy with my machine gun... But your arguments seem reasonnable. Players probably are interested in. It's humankind, I suppose. But I like the ideas about making the game more realistic.

Here is my humble opinion about your ideas:

It is always enthralling when someone comes with fresh ideas and the skill to script them, so here I applause.
Thanks so far :)
Salamandre hat geschrieben: Now, about them:

You certainly know that this requires a very high coding level and an impressive amount of work.
Well, impressive amount of work is right. It is much work. Regarding the "very high coding level": Well, i'm a software developer, although by profession software for machine control. So i have som level of coding. I think, it's sufficient, but not "very high". A "very high coding level" do have i think Alan Cox and Linus Thorvalds and some few more. My coding skill is just sufficient.
Salamandre hat geschrieben: Will you spend weeks and weeks to code the "estates" to give +20 gold/level when we have a much better option already?
Well, that's exactly the question. Is the actual version really better? I do not think so. But indeed that may well depend on playing prefs. I prefere getting some advantages during the game, not just for free at the beginning. This is called development and is mostly related to the RPG aspect of HoMM, but to some degree too to the strategical aspect. So this is why i started this.
Salamandre hat geschrieben: I mean, if I had to choose between the actual one which has the cap at 2500 gold at 25th level and getting 20x25 gold at same level, I am not sure I will choose yours. Players are interested in overpower and have fun with it.
Well, yes, overpower. But i'm not interested in overpowering just for nothing. But i'm interested in giving the chance to develop your hero to get some degree of "overpower". The trick is in not giving anything for nothing, but reward a player for good playing.
Salamandre hat geschrieben: Also, the estates skill must be very strong to make me sacrifice a natural fighting/magic skill to get it. Would I choose estates which gives me 200 gold/day ( almost all skills are choose in the first 2 weeks) when offense/armorer/earth/wisdom/air/water/intelligence/logistic/pathfinding/leadership give so much more valuable rewards? And I already quoted more than the totality of skills you can get.
Well, yes. Indeed those decisions are exactly what i'm thinking of. Is it worth to "sacrifice" any skill for f.ex. estates? It's your decision. If you decide to to so you'll get some economical advantage. If not, you get the advantage of some other skill. Or what about pushing two heroes to high levels instead only one? One hero for the economical aspect and one for the military aspect. The trick is: It's totally up to you.

But it may well be that the amount of reward should be justified. So this is why i'm discussing it here. At which advantage amount would anyone "sacrifice" any other skill for f.ex. estates? The goal is to make estates a skill as worthy as any other, just depending on your playing style and what you want. So this is not overpowering, but enable other preferences.
Salamandre hat geschrieben: If you dislike the extra ressource/week, just remove it from the function from the 48erm script:
It's not that i generally dislike it. I just don't want anyone to get this extra rsource just for free. I want that as a reward for good gameplay. Unfortunately all those standard WoG scripts ignore this aspect.
Salamandre hat geschrieben: By removing this script the hero will generate only gold and does not require a whole new code.
But don't forget that the estates skill gives mithril if luck is high and it is the only way to get mithril if the special mine is disabled.
Giving Mithril with Luck is indeed an interesting feature. But i'd prefere "Luck" beeing one of the secondary skills. So Mithril just for anyone? No. But for Resource specialists with estates and luck, yes.

Thanks for the idea.

Salamandre hat geschrieben: 5 gold /emblem and extra gold for eagle eye? Do you have some realistic explanations why for those? Could be others as well. My self I don't see the why eagle eye should give gold, ressources or anything except a spell...
Well, yes. "Cognizanze" is about knowing things. So a hero with estates known how to make money out of his estates. With the emblem he knows better. And eagle eye? Similar. Not knowing by knowledge but by observing, "keeping an eye on it". These are the ideas behind it. Besides the fact that the emblem as well as eagle eye are both features not that useful else.
Salamandre hat geschrieben: About the creatures specialists getting a lower aggressiveness on the map, please don't forget that almost all good maps have monsters set to not join, as in the contrary case a diplomat hero can ruin the work of the mapmaker. The idea is interesting but I don't see how could be applied and enjoyed.
Monsters set to not join have an agression set to 10. This (as well as the opposite, 0) is left untouched. Exactly because of these map design ideas.
Salamandre hat geschrieben: Most of original script which can be imagined for WoG should work only in special case. Who anyway plays with all WoG scripts enabled? They ruin the game, and even more, crash it. I saw and studied almost all scripts made for custom maps and I don't think they should be placed in general options, but have a special purpose for a specific scenario.
Well, that may be. But i'm not reworking all of it because of that. The basic idea behind all those benefits is another: Nothing for free, but significant rewards for good game play.
Salamandre hat geschrieben: Well, only my opinion, keep the positive way and...script:)
Sure :)
Salamandre hat geschrieben: Sorry for poluting in english, but I have not a clue about german and WoG is dead elsewhere except in chinese forums (I have a hard time to discuss there, let you imagine why)
Well, WoG may be dead or not. I'm doing this mainly for myself, and then for anyone who is interested. So don't worry about that :)

You're chinese? Interesting. No problem because of english. My english is not perfect either, but it should be sufficient for understanding.

Regards
and thanks for the idea
