I got this email from Fabrice (Ubisoft):
Btw, I pop up from time to time in your forum, but there is no place in english, or a thread where people could ask questions. There is such a thread in all other communities, for direct contact. So I have a hard time getting info or feedback from your site :p

I´m having a bad flu . Netherless it´s a great pleasure for me to sum it up a bit.

Global features Heroes 5

The main concern of us is the we don´t like DVD Boxes and Manuals on Disc as PDF -Files. Back to the roots would be glad with big, detailed manuals made of fine paper and a well designed cardboardbox.

Another wish from us was that you could keep Heroes 5 nearly bugfree. It´s frustrating, disappointing an nerving to install one Patch and another and another until you can enjoy it.

The Randommap-Generator could be more easy and more comfortable for newbies an well skilled Users.

Some players mean the difference between races, klasses, Cities and Creatures is to extreme and should be optimized more.

Some players wish to have a copy & paste function / button to be integrated in the mapeeditor. It would be helpfull if you can mark whole mapssections and copy & paste them some wehre you like it.

-A reference / creature guide made out of paper
-more XL maps
-more differnent Cities such as an elf or dragoncitie
- we want heroes no rambos . They get to strong in the end of most of the kampaigns / maps
-Cities ans mines should be able to be conquered, rebuild and destroyed
-maybe it would be nice if the player could build his / her own city
-all features should be able to be switched on / off

Hi hafen
It would be nice if that could be done in the fith edition of heroes. A program which could convert or transfer any Homm4 map to Homm 5 because these maps maybe faster if the were avaiable for the program. And most important the opponents intelligence. All in all Heroes 4 is nearly perfect. Maybe more different cities as an Elfen city and a Dragon city. XL maps should appear more often in the game.

Today it seems that I have defeated my flu after One Week of suffering. So I`m glad to sum up the next chapter:

Secondary Skills / Heroes improvment

- a system like / based on Heroes 3
- Heroes Specials as in Heroes 3
- maybe a Roleplayinglike Skillsystem bsed on Might & Magic
- the skillsystem of Heroes 4 was to chaotic and often difficult to chose which to take and which to forget
-a chance to divide the experience I gain on my skills to raise them faster
- a detailled skilltree wehre I can choose better which way me heroe(s) will go
-maybe a secondary skill like birbery , that I can persuade an enemy hero to join me permanently . Opponent can do the same to my heroes.
-to defend heroes against the atteemps of bribery we could introduce a skill called "steadfastness" .
-a strikt separation of fighter and mage, no mixing allowed

Should the Heroes continue to fight / interact or not ?

-most people were happy to have a heroes fighting with the creture stacks gainst the opponents
-the selection of the heroe(s ) becomes more and more important cause oft that and it makes lots of fun
-most people find that the heroes gain too strong to fast and in the end the creature stacks get more an more useless (our arni makes it on his own *g*)
- I think it must be more balanced betweeen KI, Heroes , Creatures, my and oppenonets creature stacks, ….
- all Features must be switchable (on / off) so that everyone could choose what difficulty and features / handicapes suit him / her best
- no more invulnerabiliy drinks for heroes . all in all they are strong enough to defend themselves cause of their skills and so

Hi

Actually I would prefer getting your suggestions and ideas summarized somehow by mail, doc or some specific form. Forums are easier for discussions, and I find it easier just to keep to simple questions and answers in designated threads like this one. Reading suggestions in forums takes way too much time, and is forgotten (or lost) quickly.

- the musik could be more historical and more varied
- every Landscape should have his own melody

Hi Fabrice

At first I`ve some questions about the upcoming monsters an units.
- You wrote that Heroes 5 is coming in 3D-Graphics. Are the monsters able to use all 3 dimensions on adventure map. For example :Can Dragons or Birds fly over water or mountains ?
- do you plan to enlarge the limit of 8 active armys like in Heroes 3 and 4 ?
- do you plan necro-units ? These Units are always a problem for Online balance.

Im a fan of a detailed script-system for map-makers. I love the choice like in "Wake of Gods". Do you plan something like that in Heroes 5 ?

And at last : Do you have new Information about the Problem Heroes On/Off Battlefield ?

okay... I would like to get a big battlefield ,bigger than in Heroes 3 or Heroes 4. I think it would be interesting when you have more room to move your troops in battle , you know ? I want to suprise my opponent , maybe with attacks from behind , or with Archer which standing behind trees and which my opponent can´t see , you know ? I mean that the groundside (landscape) of battle gets more important. A hill gives an advantage for example. Or Forrest will hide enemy units until they are in range. Have you any Plans like that ? Or is it to early to ask a question like that ?

another detail...

it would be great if Goblins for example looks small and Dragons and other bigger creatures are very big and tall ! That would be great !

A few answers :

The battlefield will follow the usual rules of the Heroes series, meaning displayed on one screen.

Races and towns : yes I know :)

Creature sizes : working on it.

Yes I'll definitely send more sketches and first models next time, which will be with the official announcement. :)

At this stage the team is around 20 people already.
