Enhance Graphics - on Win based MM games (shaders, filters)
Ave!
MM 6 could be quite nice with FSAA, as here someone states:
"BTW- the best example ever made for FSAA... an older RPG, Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven.
FSAA absolutely revolutionizes the graphics in that game. The impact is astounding.
MM6 benefits so much from FSAA that I literally would prefer 640x480x16bpp + 4X FSAA over 1600x1200x32bpp w/out FSAA in that game.
FSAA is an absolute godsend for anyone that wants to play that game."

But, being blessed with an Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated GPU, this seems impossible.
1 - do you think, external shader / filter programes can help?
eg.

2- Installing MM6 in a DosBox environment (within it a Win 3.1 or Win 95) to use its shaders (hq, eagleeye,..) would be useful?
Danke für any info!

Sorry, I'm unfortunately not really sure what you are asking for; if it is playing MM6 on a more or less modern PC, there are multiple ways to emulate, easiest may be to purchase the already emulated Version from Gog or included in the MM10 Legacy Pack.
Grüss Gott, Happy New Year Foren Readers!
-----
If someone knows, how to enhance MM 6 GFX - eg in the above mentioned ways - would be happy to hear / see it.
Would happily see "shadered", filtered, "FSAA-d", etc. screenshots.
thx.

the article in the forum above is from 2002 - i wouldnt call it a new thing - and better graphics in mm6 you only get via better sprites.

Great confidence you have, justl.
i dont think only new things are beneficial !!!
opinions, opinions, then you say, the statement at
http://forums.anandtech.com/archive/ind ... 49351.html
is false, without having tried it?
Also, without having tried Dosbox (SVN) Shaders?????
All your words without any proof, just using imagination?

Hi
Why do you want to install MM6 in a DosBox? Do you want to install win95 in DosBox and on top of it MM6?
Afaik it is like justl said. You need better sprites to improve the gfx.
And, correct me if I'm wrong, FSAA depends on your graphic card, no matter which environment you use (DosBox, Win95, WinXP) And, referring to wikipedia, it isn't used nowadays.
Ohhh sorry, it is an old thread I didn't see the date, sorry. Forget it

Ok, thank you for posting your results
I'm not so common with graphics and shaders and so on. And I still don't get it, but maybe I will give it a try when I play MM6 next time
Edit: I have never heard of dosbox svn daum. I searched a bit, it seems to be very good. Particularly because it seems to be "in development", not like the usual dosbox. Thanks for the tip

Erklärbär in Deutsch, zur besseren Verständnis:<3Xeen<3 hat geschrieben: And I still don't get it, but maybe I will give it a try when I play MM6 next time
Not that I am a net-society fan or member, or feeling charmed...
But yesterday Horst Tappert in my favorite inspector series appeared again in TV...
