Already there are numerous similarities evident with Wizardry 8. The interface, for one; a turn based combat system adapted to a 3D engine. In both games the player controls a party of adventurers, controlling the team as a whole, but viewing the action as though a single individual. The portraits of the party members line the border of the screen, occasionally blinking, or cricking their necks. Each has a distinct voice that comments at appropriate moments, cracking wise after battles won. And both Wizardry 8 and Might & Magic 9 have an elaborate fantasy heritage, an internal consistency that give the world added richness to those who've visited it before. The sound, too, is very nice. Orchestral MP3s play throughout, with directional sound effects used aptly.
Die Ähnlichkeiten mit Wizardry 8, die man anhand einiger Screens bisher erkennen konnte, wird also bestätigt und muss ja nicht negativ sein.
